As of May 22, 2008, we have been formally registered as a charity organization under German law,
indicated by the "e.V." in the official name. This has taken us more time to prepare,
but we are certain that the additional effort will proof its worth. For our members, supporters,
and those working on behalf of DocAfrika, this gives the highest amount of transparency into the use of funds and our projects.
Only if we obey to the rules and regulations, we can keep our status, which will also allow donations from within Germany to be completely tax deductible,
as we have been classi?ed as exceptionally worthy and serving the public good.
While we hope that this move will also give extra credibility to DocAfrika for our many international partners,
our goal is obviously that the best way to demonstrate our cause is by our actions.
Since summer 2008, Mouna and Henning have been screening several projects, talking to organisations and individuals, and, of course, worked on getting the homepage up to date.
Now we are happy to present the new site, which should give an overview over DocAfrika and a first glimpse at some of the projects chosen so far.
