DocAfrika International e.V.

People behind DocAfrica

Henning Kosmack (Chairman):

Having spent most of his professional career around maximizing profits in various functions, Henning decided he wanted to give something back. He is an active entrepreneur, works as an investor and consultant, and has served on various Boards. DocAfrika was always his dream, so before starting his latest venture, MegaZebra, he left his position as Director at Nokia Siemens Networks to focus on its foundation.

Dr. Uwe Kosmack (Vice Chairman):

Formerly a German Diplomate to Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, Uwe was awarded the following decorations for his duties: First Degree Medal of the Order of Danneborg, by HM the Queen of Denmark, Commander of the Order of Nordstjärn, by HM the King of Sweden, and the Golden Medal for Achievements to the state forest in Finland, the highest ever given to a non-Finn. He has founded and chaired many charitable organizations, currently still active as the Chairman of Lichtspiel Art Lab e.V., a cultural diversity project in Berlin, Germany.

Dagmar Kosmack (Secretary to the Board):

Mother of three and professional social worker, Dagmar has spent most of her life caring and looking after others. She is the Deputy Chairwoman of Leben im Heim in Wismar, Germany, and honorary worker at the home for elderly at St.Martin, also in Wismar. She further brings food and assistance to people in need, primarily children in Wismar. Before moving to there, she was living in the former capital of Germany, Bonn, where she was an honorary worker at Lighthouse, a hospice.

Mouna Abdelkhalek (Treasurer / CFO):

From an international family, with a Tunisian father, mother from the U.S. she is working in the field of intercultural communication, either preparing students and professionals for their life abroad or enabling young people from different backgrounds to find their way into society. She loves to stay close to the frontline and support those who are working on helping the poor, e.g. orphans, or empowering people in less privileged areas, especially in the Middle East. Having lived and helped in different projects, it is her mission to invest more time in this region.

Besides the Board, the founding members of DocAfrika were Lena and Dr. Ivar Vaara from Sweden, as well as their daughter Elsa. Married to her is Jan-Kristof Kosmack, who together with Dr. Arnd Kosmack completed the inauguration of this initiative. Jan and Elsa`s new-born child August was also present, though sleeping. Hopefully, he`ll become active some day, too.

At this stage, I would like to cordially thank all participants in the founding meeting of DocAfrika for their contribution and wish the new Board all the best for our joint efforts to make a change for the better.
